Busy Busy Busy

I haven’t been blogging as
often as I would like lately, which brings me to today’s post.

MOST people are just soooo busy

This should be a point for quick agreement, but the subtle danger involved in our busy lives is that most of us never stop to realise that in most cases we can do something about it!! We tend to look wildly and unrealistically in every other direction for the cause of our trouble.  Most of us feel like helpless victims where our work and activity schedules are concerned.

What is actually important?  How much of this activity is God actually instigating?  How much of it is the  consequence of my own bad judgement, and how much was guided by the Holy Spirit within me?

A woman’s ego often pushes her into a whirlwind life of ‘being soooooo busy’.  If you are capable, and if the ladies adore you and heap compliments every time we teach, or preach, or simply share, …….be wary.  It is easy to mistake the voice of flattery for the voice of God – especially if you’ve been busy, and there hasn’t really been proper ‘quite’ time to hear God speak.

The voice of God is always speaking to us, and always trying to get our attention.
His voice is a ‘still, small voice’, and
we MUST at least slow down in order to listen and hear.

Isaiah:  30v15
This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says:
“In repentance and rest is your salvation,
In quietness and trust is your strength”
but ….  you would have none of it.
Mark:  6v30-31
The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to him all they had done and taught.
Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, He said to them,
“Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.’’

Give our Lord priority in our lives – make time to simply be…….

sit quietly and listen!

This is so true! Very often we get caught in the trap of thinking that if we're superwoman and if everyone around us is appreciating all that we're doing for them we need to be doing all of what we're doing. Actually, we may be doing too much. As women, it's important for us to not only nurture others, but also to nurture ourselves.

I love hearing from you so, please consider “Commenting: this is a valuable part of my growth as a blogger and person :)
