Life’s Riches

Photo removed:  apparently it belonged to someone else.  Apologies Crysti 😦 ……..

Isn’t it great to know that God is not against Rich People.  Here we see that God actually makes some people rich and then tops this off by enabling them to enjoy it!  They are so busy using their money for the glory of God, they don’t even think about getting old.

On the other hand, there are those who work and sweat, worrying about how they are going to get  the pleasure that God offers as a gift.  All they have to do is seek it in the manner that he has chosen to give it.  “How much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!” Jesus said, immediately relating to the promise to the summary of the Law and the Prophets.

“In everything, do to others what you would have them do to you”

Matthew 7 11-12

Doing kind things with money makes OUR hearts glad.

I think we have all experienced the excitement of giving someone a gift – seeing their face light up, hearing their cry of delight.  Or perhaps they were simply overwhelmed and cried!  Yet, we are probably not so aware of the fact that kindness keeps us busy.

There are so many needs to be met, we can never be bored.  One of the cures, in my opinion, for depression, is helping another person;  we simply don’t/wont have time to think about ourselves.  And to put the cherry on-top, there is more physical activity involved that tires us so we fall asleep as soon as our head hits the pillow.

Have you given a gift – it doesn’t have to be money or anything in monetary value – it can be,

  • the gift of time,
  • the gift of lending an ear,
  • the gift of making someone else a cup of tea and giving them the little ‘me time’ that they need.
How have YOU contributed to making someone else’s life a little easier today?
Bless you today and may everything you do today, give Glory to Jesus!
