So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall
1 Corinthians 10:12
There are many devout people whose thoughts contradict their prayers. They mouth prayers of thanksgiving, but fail to appreciate God’s daily blessings. With beautiful phrases they tell God how wonderful and great He is, but their perspective on life remains pitifully narrow and they are unable to understand that setbacks are merely opportunities that must be accepted eagerly. They praise God’s greatness and believe that he is omnipresent, yet they mourn their loneliness. Their prayers never inspire them to confront life bravely.
Prayer should inspire us to positive action. Many Christians pray and then sit back and wait for God to perform miracles. Of course God can perform any miracle, but when you pray you open yourself to the guidance of the Holy Spirit and allow Him to work through you. In this way, you become an active partner of God in the answering of your prayers.
If you are in financial trouble, like me, ask God for help, He may first expect a sense of responsibility from you in the way you spend your money. Meaningful prayer will enable you to consider every aspect of your life positively and creatively.
Prayer is not intended as an escape mechanism from the realities of life, and it should not be reserved for those times when all other attempts have failed. Prayer makes you a partner of your heavenly Father, and surely this is the greatest miracle of them all.
My life is and has been extremely tough over the last couple of months and God has always provided for me, maybe not in my time, but always in His. I Praise Him in and through every circumstance in my life, otherwise I do not know what I will do. In times like these, it is important to make sure your thoughts do not contradict your prayers! Speak life into your life so that you can HEAR what you are praying and BELIEVE! God will never leave you or forsake you. Stay close to HIM!
God Bless you my friends, brothers and sisters in Christ!
What is important in prayer is that God is such an integral part of life that spontaneous conversation with Him
becomes second nature.
