Do YOU have room for Jesus?
“In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you”
~ John 14:2
And she gave birth to her firstborn, a son.
She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the Inn ~ Luke 2:7
Had the poor people of Bethlehem known who these visitors were, they would probably have tried to “make” room for them. Mary would become the mother of the Messiah generations of Israel had been waiting for. Every devout Israelite would have liked to give up his own room for Him. But God does not come to this world in greatness and splendour. He comes in the shape of a servant and is placed in a manger.
Will this Christmas once again proclaim to you that the Lord could not find a place in your life either? If this is the case then, your guilt is bigger than that of the people of Bethlehem. After all, we know that He is the Christ! The wonder of God’s grace is that He does not repay us according to our sins. Although there was no place for Him on earth, He went to prepare a place in heaven for every repentant sinner. A “no-vacancy” sign is never ever posted!
Our Christmas ‘deed’ should be to make room for Christ in our hearts and lives. Then we have nothing to fear because we know – for me too a place has been prepared by the Lamb Himself so that I may take my place at the feast of the Lamb! Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!!
Heaven will be the endless reward for everyone who has heaven in his heart!
