In Safe Keeping (2013)
Thank you to everyone who supported me during this last year.
“I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go …
I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you”.
Here we find a wonderful, all-encompassing promise for the first morning of a new year. The old year is behind us with all its burdens of guilt and sin, its sorrows and disappointments, its dark days and difficult hours. Now, because of the eternal faithfulness of God, we may enter the new year with this declaration of the gospel, this joyful message, which continues to resound in our ears. I pray that God allow it also to permeate our deepest heart.
We are heading towards an unknown future, and despite what we have left behind in the old year, we will not be free of troubles and worries. We are, after all, human children with a lot of anxiety and generally, little faith. This is why we stand terrified and weak before the unknown.
However, now, our almighty God comes and reads the fear and worry in our eyes, and speaks to us as He did to Jacob, the one-time drifter: “Don’t be afraid. I am with you. The promises that I have made I will keep.” These words fall like heavenly music upon our ears.
Through Jesus Christ this God is our God. If we believe, we are God’s redeemed children through Christ, we will never have to doubt his eternal faithfulness. God has spoken these words, and each promise will be consummated in our lives if we simply believe, and wait patiently for Him.
I pray that 2013 is going to be a year filled with lots of laughter, love, blessing and that there will be an abundance of miracles – giving our Lord all the Glory.
HAPPY NEW YEAR
