Will you follow?
Who will need to grope their way in the dark if the faithful God will be our guideposts? Even if we have to pass through torment and strife, we will arrive at the right destination, as long as God’s Word remains our truth. “I will teach you EVERYTHING about the path that you must travel”.
The question is whether we will follow the heavenly guideposts; whether we want to be taught by Him. Unfortunately, there are so many of us who do not want to allow Him to teach us, even if we piously say that we do. We have said it so often in the past, and yet we don’t truly want to see the guideposts plated in the ground before us. We want to walk our own path without any interference. Isn’t it then understandable that we end up being disappointed and with our hopes dashed to the ground?
Today I have a text that contains another powerful word of comfort: “I will keep watch over you.” It this truly a word of comfort to us? Will it be a relief to us, knowing that God’s eyes are upon us? He pays attention to the path that we are walking. May the thought of this keep us from wandering onto a wrong path and prevent us from committing deeds and speaking words that do not demonstrate love.
The eyes of God will be upon us. May this, which is intended as imminent consolation, not become a sentence to us.
“Those who insist on seeing with complete clarity before making a decision will never decide
