What to do when things go wrong – PRAY!

When things go wrong, there are always those who question the existence of God. In the midst of the chaos of personal tragedy we hear their cry of distress: “If there is a God, why does He allow such things to happen?  The brutality of war or the death of a child is used as the basis of an argument in which the love of God is denied. Time and again God stands as the accused, as if He is ‘simply’ allowing the tragedy to happen.  God never allows anything ‘simply’ – (there are reasons that we in our own mind cannot fathom or understand, but in time, the reason’s will be revealed to us – “the supernatural cannot be understood by the natural mind”). God’s love is denied and the sceptics flourish by using these arguments to drive people further and further away from God’s protective love.

God’s immutable promise to his children has always been, and will always  be, that if they only turn to Him in prayer, He will hear their voices and answer their prayers.  Jesus promised: ” … whoever comes to me I will never drive away” ~ John 6:37.  The almighty God challenges his children and says: ” … return to me with all your heart … rend your heart and not your garments.  Return to the Lord your God …” ~ Joel 2: 12-13 .

Whatever your worries, however desperate your situation, turn in sincere prayer to God and gratefully accept the guidance that He has promised.

When I am tired, weak and overburdened, Lord Jesus I turn to you in prayer so that I may receive a new strength and vigour.  Help me with this through your Holy Spirit.

Have a wonderful day today and be blessed ❤

Prayer is the breath of the reborn soul, and without it there can be no Christian life.
